Biography
Michael Jackson is an award winning photographer based in rural Wales, UK. Born in 1966 he studied art and design at West Dean College before becoming a professional photographer in 2004. His work is in collections throughout the UK and Europe and he has exhibited internationally - most recently in Hong Kong, Denmark and New York with the Hasselblad 'Masters Tour'.
He works on long term projects - often crossing over from documenting to personal expression - and spends most days either at Poppit Sands, Cardiff or in his studio based near Cardigan.
He has been published internationally and is also a regular contributor to Welsh Country Magazine. In both 2008 and 2009 he was nominated by Hasselblad as a Finalist for the Hasselblad Masters Award in Sweden.
Currently Michael is working on two long term projects - Poppit Sands (4th year) and 'TWO CAPITALS' - showing images from Cardiff and London.
His work has been described as 'stunning - showing us the whole galaxy in the sands' and 'visually unique'
